I worked in radio for Dan Michaels (what a guy!) some time ago and bumped into him recently.  If I make the long story really, really short, here I am!  I'm really thrilled to be at Mojo 104, super people and  great music.  It's about time, huh?  Let's see, a little about me... I started playing piano at age 3 and haven't stopped yet.  After graduating from college, I played on Carnival Cruise Lines for a few years before moving to New Orleans.  I love that city, have always loved  New Orleans music and was able to work a lot.  Here's a list of just a few of the jobs: I worked in blues, swing, funk, trad (traditional) jazz & rock bands in the French Quarter, did solo jazz & vocal gigs at private parties, served as Musical Director for a bunch of musicals & cabarets, accompanied ballet & modern dance classes at Tulane & taught pre-school music. I eventually moved back to the Midwest to be closer to my family, a decision I'll never regret.  Sadly, I lost my hero & favorite guy in the entire world, my Dad, in '04 but am lucky to have my Mom in town and my brother, Jack, & his wonderful family just a phone call away in Seattle.   I now play keyboard & sing in a band called PAST DUE.  They're a fantastic group of musicians and all-around great guys, my second family.  We play a lot of the music that Mojo plays and gig around the Red River Valley constantly, so keep listening ... I'll keep you posted.   In summary, at the end of the day, I consider myself pretty lucky to have two jobs that I love.   I think I'll apply for "Professional Kitten Snuggler" next, then I'd have three!  (Snuggler, not juggler...in case you've seen "The Jerk".
